Brings back some of the “feeling” from 28 Days later.

Wow. That is very exciting to hear. Thanks.

Perfect! Thank you. :)

Very excited to see this but definitely avoiding the trailer! :) Anyone who's seen it, how does it look? (no spoilers please, just a general "good / bad" would be great)

Having travelled a lot, I feel I was born into what I consider a great country just as it was starting to pull itself out of poverty. Pure chance.

I got a good education and college was essentially free.

I have a lot of kids and work really hard at being a good dad so I am surrounded by love. I am very lucky that I am married twenty years (some better than others) to someone who still loves me and who I still love. Some days that love is all that keeps me going because fuck me I am exhausted haha.

I feel uncomfortable typing all that out but it's a good exercise in thankfulness so thank you.

I started it on a futon too and did eventually get used to it but would not want to go back so I totally feel you.

Not sure what your budget / bed size is but IKEA have a range of different priced, decent quality pocket spring mattresses with good warranties. My friend ended up returning his after nearly 3 years (iirc) and they honoured it after inspecting and agreeing that the springs at the very edge on one side were faulty.

I strongly agree with the other comment on not taking second hand ones because of the risk of bed bugs.

They've been delivering bucket loads of cash for oil and there was a recent deal for $4 billion USD for radar kit.

I read it as "European imports from China face lower duties".

Explanation:

The emperor Decius decided that Rome had lost it's way and the only way to save it was for everyone to make a sacrifice to the gods.

Once you had made your sacrifice you got a paper slip from the government.

Christians refused in huge numbers. They were slaughtered, including the pope at the time.

edit: I just want to add, it's OC so excuse the crappy image editing. :D

Cheers. You too. :)

Interesting as Trump has said he will continue arms deliveries in that case. No way even Trump could expect Ukraine to give up even more land than is currently occupied at the negotiating table. It would be a "terrible deal".

Some benchmarks were leaked and thought you would be interested. Link.

Apparently full press embargo will be lifted on the 12th.

Lol this is a beauty of a meme.

If you haven't listened to the Behind the Bastards episode on Assad it's a solid listen. Absolutely fuck this guy to next Tuesday and back again.

YouTube link to part one.

Initial results look like a slight shift to the left. The candidates fielded on a hard right stance are taking a hiding which gives me hope for our little island.

Interesting about "the monk". That would be a cat among the pigeons if he gets in.

95 drones were diverted using spoofing tactics that manipulate the satellite coordinates guiding the drones and missiles through Ukrainian airspace.

Me: Ireland - Approximately 2 minutes until poll in hand is the longest.

I've been seeing long lines for the US elections even for early voting. Seems completely unnecessary.

Mine have built a decent number of very small scratches and they're getting annoying so I'd like to get rid if at all possible.

I've seen various things suggested including:

  • lens scratch repair kit (reviews don't look great on amazon)
  • baking soda paste
  • non-abrasive toothpaste
  • furniture polish (temporarily fills in the scratch from what I can tell)

I'm reluctant to try any of them without some first hand accounts. No lens coating on these so no worries there.

Thank you in advance!

edit: I just want to say thanks very much to everyone. I ended up getting my prescription emailed to me and buying a new pair for €17 (about $19 USD) delivered on a site that one helpful poster linked. Looks like they will take about 3 weeks to get here so I'll put up with the scratchy ones until they get here.

When they do arrive I will take some pictures and test the various methods I found online then post up what works and what wrecks the lenses.

The sale of disposable vapes is set to be banned under proposals going to Cabinet.

The Minister for Health is expected to get Government approval to draft these laws which will ban the sale, manufacture or import of single-use or disposable vapes in Ireland.

Stephen Donnelly plans to introduce this ban on environmental and public health grounds.

Absolutely fascinating stuff. The power of social engineering, charm and confidence by two very young kids is mind blowing. Some very funny bits in it too.
