Because two planes hit two buildings (and the other one) and like 3-4 buildings imploded. It didn’t look real.
Im guessing engineers didn’t plan for planes to strike the building which is why they crumbled.
That was literally it. It was so odd a situation to our daily lives that parts of it didn’t seem real.
My observation about this is that we've moved from an era of asking whether or not climate change is real to one where we try to figure out how serious it is going to be.
Like I'm not even clear on what is meant by collapse.

Not to get too sidetracked but part of what isn't working about capitalism is what is coming down the pipe with climate change. Capitalism does work, but market socialism looks like an upgrade to me. People over profits.
I watched 'Till' last night (if you don't know the story, Emmett Till was lynched when he visited his cousins in Mississippi in the '50s. The murderers were identified by multiple witnesses, but the local jury found them not guilty. Till was a 14 year old black kid whose infraction was telling a white lady she looked like a movie star, and then doing a dog-whistle).
A lot of what was happening back then looks like what is happening to LGBT now. It's wild. They'll keep ramping it up, they aren't anywhere near where they want to be and they have the power and support to make it happen.
I don't think this is a hot take anymore. Middle/lower class are sick of hearing that everything is our problem. It isn't.
Just need to add more users than we lose. Lots of good things ahead, I see a bright future here.

Not bad, not great. I buy my veggies from a grocery that specializes in that, it's much cheaper and less plastic. No yogurt? No solid/brick cheese? No nuts and dried fruit? No canned beans or dried beans? Peanut butter?
What you really need is a $/portion table to see what's actually expensive here.
I think the muffins tip you over the edge into junk food land. They are very empty and basically the same as the rolls, the kraft dinner, and whatever is in the red box. A fair bit of this stuff is basically sugar and bread.
