Until the Epstein post, I had the same question. Now, not so much.

He's the current generations Rage Against the Machine and someone deserving of such a title!

Same. For the longest time I was made to believe that crying in front of people was weak. Especially, when those tears came from entertainment. Then I watched Schindler's List and bawled like a fucking baby at the end when...

Tap for spoilerSchindler starts pointing out all the possessions he still had, which he could have bartered to save more Jews and the overwhelming support from the ones he did save comforting him.

It fundamentally changed who I was and what I was willing to show emotion for, especially empathy. I found that any movie based on actual events, that ended tragically, would illicit a similar response.

It was only after years of therapy and the support of wonderful people in my life that I learned to feel that deeply for any media with resonating characters. Elon said empathy is a human weakness, but he's never been so wrong. It's the only thing that binds us together.

They're not anti-higher education for all, just for liberals and those who are not part of the wealthy class. That's why they jacked the price up around the 1980s. Too many poors were going to school, competing with rich kids for high paying jobs, and cementing class-consciousness pushing for social change. They can't have that!

Raising the cost of tuition meant fewer families were able to attend college without financial aid, which has also been set up to be a lasting financial burden for us plebs. Couple that with better employment opportunities being largely reliant on the level of education obtained, and you have a system designed by the rich, for the rich, to ensure they're the only educated group, able to ascend to the upper echelons of power.

Also, they want smart people with college degrees (and sociopathic tendencies) to work for them and come up with new ways to manipulate/kill people! It's why so many Nazis were incorporated into US projects after WWII, rather than being hanged for the crimes they helped facilitate against humanity.

Edit: I forgot to include the racism part of the price hike, specifically aimed to prevent class mobility for people of color. Racism is just the worst!

I had my first fuck up with openSUSE+Gnome a couple of weeks ago when impatient me killed my laptop in the middle of like 1600-updates. BRTFS was the only reason I didn't rip my hair out and the primary reason I will be switching my daily driver gaming rig to Linux, finally! That FS is the tits!

Hopefully, we don't hear about some intelligence agent with a new book coming out in the future regarding how tRump was a known asset for the Kremlin and how he was caught red-handed giving info to Putin in some false-flag operation.

Thank you for the information! I just made a new account on feddit.online and will try out Thunder. What other instances work well with Voyager, if you know?

[–] mjhelto@lemm.ee 3 points 2 days ago

Someone posted it down below. I just hadn't seen that comment, yet. Thank you for providing a link!

There is already one or you're expecting one soon?

I really like Voyager for Android Lemmy browsing. I've heard others echo the app reference. I was unaware that the apps play a part in the features offered to Lemmy users, in regards to the instances someone uses. If I moved to an instance of piefed, will I still be able to use Voyager? If so, what piefed features may I miss out on?

Apologies if the answers to these questions exceed the info you were providing.

Hey! Fuck yeah, Octoprint! I'm a Patreon supporter and love the development. That shit about plugin manipulation was the catalyst to my contribution and highly recommend that platform for all new 3D printing enthusiasts!

First, I have no idea what some of these things are called or I think I know but I'm also second guessing myself the whole time. Also, I've never bought glass from anywhere but a local head-shop. For instance, this bong is almost 20yo. Please forgive me, if I apply incorrect nomenclature to any of the parts.

My bong's inner pipe, I think it's called a joint, broke several months back. I searched online shortly after but there were so many variables to consider that it kind of seemed overwhelming. I'm hoping there's someone within this community who has experience replacing a bongs' hardware. I have some measurements and images with the measurements included if anyone needs to see them. All of the measurements below are approximate mm -> inch conversions.

  • Depth from rubber grommet to lowest part of chamber: 115 mm, 4.5 in

  • Inner glass diameter (joint?): 14 mm, 0.5 in

  • Inner glass diameter (bowl?): 8 mm, 0.3 in

  • Diameter of lowest chamber (don't know if this is needed): 107 mm, 4.25 in

  • Diameter of bowl chamber (don't think this matters): 30 mm, 1.25 in

I would appreciate recommendations you all have for reputable glassware replacement sellers (from first-hand experience, preferably). In addition, I don't think the depth of the join needs to be that long, that's just the max depth. Thank you in advance for any suggestions, recommendations, or numbers to filter for when finding a replacement!

After a lot of planetary landings, I finally found one! Galaxy is Hilbert Dimension!

I used to have no issue with this, just like the person from this reddit post, where my music app would resume playing if it was the last app with media playing via Bluetooth and I did not actively close the app since the last time it played.

I am having this same issue, with this same phone, running (I assume) the same Android version. Ever since I got my Pixel 7, I've had no problems with Bluetooth resuming in my car. I'd listen to Deezer on my way to work, my way from work, and as long as it was the app of choice, it would start playback as soon as it connected back to my car. I received a few updates recently and now that doesn't happen. Now it just shows me what it was playing, but never starts it, and I have to go into the app, itself, just to "wake it up" to play.

Anyone seen similar? I've unchecked all things that I know of which could stop an app from running in the background, or with loss of connection to devices. It's not set to close at all for any reason, yet it almost seems like it does. No one has responded to the OP of the cross-post so I figured I'd extend this post to Lemmy and see if anyone has an answer or suggestion.

Soon as my phone is paid off I'm going to Graphene or some other alternative to Google's trash.
