12 people. we're talking about 12 people, so any conclusions are suspect. that being said, facial recognition struggling with black faces from insufficient data is an extremely common problem, so it'd be unsurprising

this is a social problem not a personal one. why are you proposing personal hacks already?

Anybody who gives the slightest fuck about finding an alternative is already aware of kbin/Lemmy.

you exist in a filter for people who know about kbin/lemmy. I only ever heard about them because of hackernews, which is a strong filter.

It's just... so surreal. I have a very hard time getting inside the head of someone who endorses MTG's speech (as she meant it).

you can easily kill people driving. learn to drive. if you think they failed you through no fault of yours, try a different place.

too much of anything is bad for life. Sugar water has much the same problem, or extremely salty water. The problem is osmotic pressure.

Roughly, the natural state of things is spread evenly, so all that sugar outside the cell finds its way inside (unless the cell pumps it out). But too much inside the cell can disrupt the other processes of the cell, or even rupture the cell walls.

Iirc,Osmosis, with water rather than sugar, is also the effect that makes your hands prune when they're in water for too long.

It encapsulated the fact that a species could have high mortality at one point in its life cycle, then low mortality at another, while a complementary species might have low mortality at the first point and high mortality at the second. The more similar this term was for two species, the more likely it was that a pair could live alongside each other despite competing for space and nutrition.

TLDR: There are way more species than you might expect in a system with inter-species competition because different lifespans allow for niches to exist across time as well.
