I really, genuinely like Mobilizon, but the network effect is real, sadly, there aren't nearly as many people there. I'd probably suggest doing both, and maybe the like-minded people that you find on meetup can follow on Mobilizon, and help that cause as well. Meetup has nothing special, except for lots of people that go there to find events.

An oversight on my part. Thank you for posting it. Sorry that we won't cross paths there.

Great conference in Columbus, coming up December 6th, great presentations, and great people. Join us there!

How about making it a nice plugin? Could it be something that is optional and not hard to disable? Or is that too much to ask?

Anyone else not able to watch the post-game? It keeps failing, then going to Quali highlights.

No, but if started, and owned Arby's in a monopoly position for years, and then left... for many years, you'd be blamed for the state of the burger business. (Especially if you bother to comment on it, like Gates is doing)

Lights out!

It is a recurring event, it is every 3rd Saturday in September. So, once a year.

@moseschrute@lemmy.world [@NOT_RICK@lemmy.world] (https://lemmy.world/u/NOT_RICK) If both of could spread the word, that would be great. Check the page for streaming if you have the time, we'll probably have it up and running.

We're having an event for Software Freedom Day. It is a world-wide event, and we are having one right here at Montclair State University in New Jersey.

September 20th, 2025 from 11am-4pm

We'll have talks about what free software is, and why it's important for everyone. What kind of software is available for your existing computer, and how you can use Free Software to use your computer past the date that the manufacturer wants to keep updating it. There will be a talk on self hosting, so that you can run services that reduce or replace your reliance on outside big tech companies, and keep better control of your data. Talks about Wikipedia and Open Source are proposed. There will also be a talk on Social Networking with free software called "Mastodon and the Fediverse" that will show how you can network with people without giving your data to big tech, and without the algorithms that don't work in your best interest.

Here a link for more information:

We'll be happy to discuss any details.

Thunderstorms incoming, so looks like we're not riding, sorry folks.

I also have to talk to them about the AI art with misspellings.

I have a relatively slow car with a manual transmission. It's a joy to drive, to accelerate, and then back off around the speed limit. It's well balanced, and handles well in turns. But the limits of the car are relatively low. I can enjoy it at sane speeds.

So, did this ever happen? I'd be game!

It’s a great local convention for all sorts of gaming, they’re on the rebuild post-covid, but it’s always been a great event, lots of fun. Give it a shot! February 22-25th. #NJ #NewJersey #games #gameconvention

There is an AI focus this year, but regardless of your interests, there are always interesting things going on!

Take a look and go to your local meeting! If you're looking for something to talk about, think about going to the HOPE conference.
