No more Meta apps. FB, Messenger, WhatsApp, Instagram, Threads. Nothing. Painful at times but worth it.

Local is not geographically local. It means all communities on the lemmy.world instance. What you can do is block the Evanston community, or, subscribe to the communities you care about then browse by Subscribed instead of Local. Unfortunately some communities dump tens of posts at once and end up looking spammy.

Planning my second read-through. What a work of art

Exactly... That's a sad attempt by the bbc to try and make sense out of this instead of calling it for what it is, idiotic.

But you're using these billionaires' ai models are you not? Even if you use the free models they still benefit from your profile and query data

It is a very big ask... For chat i moved to Signal and convinced my closest relatives and friends to humor me and get the app, but they didn't let go of Whatsapp. It's lonely but i enjoy the quietness, and do not miss the endless groups!

They can send all of their online services like Office 365 and Copilot, as well as sales or registration of Windows very quickly. I wish they would! I'd love to see Linux and Libreoffice take over, and maybe a new European player on the market. That would be a boon for consumers worldwide.
