At an old job, I liked my chair so much that I called the barely-visible number on the faded sticker on the bottom to find out what it was, found out it was an Aeron and got me one. The great thing about a new one is the long-ass warranty. An arm snapped off mine maybe 7 years after I got it and they replaced both arms.

There's a saying I've heard in another masc-heavy field but probably applies to all of them: the odds are good but the goods are odd.

The conclusion does not follow from the premises, as evidenced by my counterexample. It could be the case that every finite string of digits appears in the decimal expansion of pi, but if that's the case, a proof would have to involve more properties than an infinite non-repeating decimal expansion. I would like to see your proof that every finite string of digits appears in the decimal expansion of pi.

That's one where you don't even have to reveal your power level to object. I just say that we. fought. a. war. (pressing down on the table) and WE WON. Giving a shit about those fucks flies in the face of even the whitewashed history they taught us in elementary school.

I stayed up so late enjoying my freedom to stay up late tonight that I am probably going to hate my freedom to wake up about as early on Thursday.

My first memory was falling in the pool. I was probably conscious for some time before then, just not making memories.

For this Saturday Afternoon Matinee, we will watch Red Beard (1965), a Japanese medical drama from the great master himself, Akiro Kurosawa. The film is in the late Edo period (i.e., 19th century) and starring Toshiro Mifune as a grizzled older doctor who takes a new apprentice under his wing, introducing him to all the unsavory elements of the profession. This is considered one of Kurosawa’s finest works and one of the best Japanese films of all time; it is currently ranked #87 on the Letterboxd Top 250.

We’ll start at 2PM EST on Hextube, right here:

My renewal letter says, in part, "[i]f you fail to fully execute a new lease by September 22, 2024, your lease will go to Month to Month at the rate of $0.00."

If they don't correct that, can I stay rent-free?

I'm buying one upgrade a day with rules I can explain more later when there's no sleeping cat on my other wrist.
