Historically, no.

When yuzu went down Emudeck was very specific that they will not remove any emulators that you have already installed.

It may happen once the Switch has reached its end-of-life. There would be less chance of N going after someone if their console is dead.

No, not impossible. I know they went after the melee community. But whoever picks up the torch would have less of a crosshair on their back at that point in time.

WHOA. Yeah ok, I just thought that they were organized by date. This is the way. Thank you!

Mostly, probably.

I would expect the legal teams to slow down once the switch becomes obsolete. (Like the SNES, GCN, etc.) At that point some other group will take up the mantle and patch whatever is broken.

... That's my guess.

Cool, but all of those alterative clients still require ARLs. They even link to the same ARL page I linked to above, the one with outdated ARLs.

Yeah, there was a big thread on it not too long ago, which is what got me started down that road. But that thread is pretty old now so I didn't want to resurrect it.

Deezer ARLs (lemmy.dbzer0.com)
submitted 2 days ago* (last edited 1 day ago) by riquisimo@lemmy.dbzer0.com to c/piracy@lemmy.dbzer0.com

Where are you guys finding you Deezer ARLs for Deemix etc.?

The megathread post here hasn't been updated in a while. The last ARL expired Sept. 10th. That page does link to a telegram post, but it's also expired.

I don't have telegram, but by incrementing the last few numbers in the URL I was able to find a more recent ARL, but this is a hit-or-miss technique.

I was thinking about getting a telegram acct to follow Firehawk, however telegram works, but I is there a simpler way? I know of YAMS and Lucida, but Deemix is really nice.

Many users here speak the joys of soulseek, but I'm under the impression Deezer would have a higher base-standard for quality.

EDIT: Solved, thanks to this comment. The ARLs list isn't in numerical order. You can search for 2025 (or 2099 even) and find some ARLs that are still active. Thanks everyone!

One of the wallpapers has XFCE on it, but I didn't change my desktop environment. Also of note, when I open the terminal it doesn't look the same as it used to. Instead of the dark purple window it's a black window with white text and the window's icon is a red "X" with a dark blue "T" on it.

This is a headless machine and I connect to it through remote-desktop.

If I go through the applications menu (manually clicking, the super key does nothing and my keyboard does not have a "Fn" key) and go to settings I get the window on the left. Changing the settings in this window does nothing. Right clicking the desktop and clicking "desktop settings" I get the window on the right. This window correctly changes the wallpaper.

When I open the home folder I get Thunar.

My guess is there are two desktop environments competing or something right now? How can I fix this?

Also, weirdly, if I click my name in the upper right I can "lock screen" and "log out..." but I can't "switch user," "suspend," or "shut down."

Thank you in advance for any help.

"Stomach rolls" That's just a stomach.

Stomachs can buckle like that when you bend, it's normal. If you're worried about that then society has got you paranoid.

If you're obese you're obese, but "stomach rolls" don't mean you're obese.

For those brave enough, this year I finally took the plunge and went with Linux on my desktop.

I went with Pop OS, and after a few days decided to try the cinnamon desktop env. since it's a little more familiar. Some things took about a week to get figured out, but now I don't ever want to go back.

This looks like "dropping an egg into boiling water" and not "bringing the water to a boil with the egg in it," which is an important distinction.

Yeah, I mean, yeah. Sounds about right, yeah.

What?

Web results only? As compared to what? AI results? What's in the first tab? You're... searching the web for results. What else would be in the first tab??

Edit: I haven't used Google in a while. I just searched "who is Dr dre" on mobile. That's a lot of boxes. Wikipedia box, albums box, songs box, people also search for box, videos box, you really gotta scroll down before you get to the results. Google doesn't really link you to the answer anymore, it just answers you. Wow.
