But it's cheaper for the studios. That's why it's here to stay - until something cheaper comes along.

I use FitoTrack, which I found on FDroid. It's reliant on third parties (Mastodon, etc) for sharing, but it does all that.

While well-intentioned, this is never going to happen. The last thing the Authorities want is civilians being incentivised to take the law into their own hands to win top awards. Ahmed was a very lucky man. It could have ended there and then for him. And he still ended up being shot.

A new company will take over following Ironman Asia's 10-year tenure as organiser of the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon.

We were doing it in the late 80s at university. Showing a bunch of SF/F movies in a lecture hall on the weekend for five bucks. We made an absolute killing on the drinks and snacks, which we used to buy books for the SF/F club library.

Thanks, looking into it.

It receives from Mastodon, but I've yet to have any of my wafrn posts show in Mastodon (or elsewhere on the Fediverse) despite being mutuals.

Australia has had a massive Eurovision fan base for decades. It was a market just dying to be tapped into. Plus, the Australian broadcaster pays a sizable fee to participate.

The Fifth Season by N. K. Jemisin.

I thought something like that had happened when I first read Cloud Atlas, but nope - that's just how it's written. I loved it once I understood.

In Oz, they certainly fucking do.

Went camping, set up the public BBQ, lit it. Vegan comes along and insists that we can't cook meat on it because it will contaminate whatever she was cooking.

She turned a particularly interesting shade of green when I reminded her that it was public, had been used by a bajillion meat eaters, and meat contamination was the least of her worries - given druggies and drunks would piss on it in the wee small hours every public holiday.

She left soon after.

They regurgitated a Simpsons episode and replaced the dolphins with KuaToa?

Unfortunately, no. I didn't receive it. I just checked.

Apologies if this is not appropriate. I wasn't sure where else to ask. Anyone know what happened to piefed.au. it's just disappeared.

After seeing Star Trek: The Motion Picture set to the excellent Tron: Legacy soundtrack by Daft Punk, my wife suggested that it might be worth doing the same with 2001:a space odyssey.

My wife had just switched from windows to the latest Mint (Cinnamon). The one thing she misses from windows is the mouse pointer. It animates so that it's light coloured on dark objects and dark on light objects. It makes it easy for her to find.

Anyone know how to do this in Cinnamon?
