As happy as I am about this, I hope we're not going to see "coincidental" increase of attacks there by ISIS(US/israeli proxy, in my opinion) or other US/israeli proxies after the withdrawal of US military.

The three day victory bullshit story is so boring, you guys repeat it ad nauseum. Get better talking points.

And it's so funny since it was the US/ Nato that mentioned the three day bullshit story. There's not one record of Putin or any Russian official even saying such a thing.

Lmao you guys are pathetic

The best reasoning for a two state solution that I've heard 👍

Lol this is exactly like reporting on China by western media, "China is (doing anything positive), but AT WHAT COST?!"

[-] stmcld@lemmy.ml 50 points 4 months ago

wtf is happening in Europe and the US? The US government is really going mask off fascist now, and a lot of European countries seem to want to emulate the worst parts of the US. I really thought it would take longer. I'm staying in Africa where it's safe.

Americans own their own land? I thought that a lot of them are in spiralling home loan debts( among other debts) for most of their lives, and the majority of the rest are renting, and can't even dream of even owning property. Not the rich, of course.

That's not even taking into account the massive homeless population that the US criminalises and leaves to fend for themselves and just die.

So...how is that better than being provided the security of housing that China is doing?

I wish the US could get kicked out of southern Africa too. I think they have a base in Botswana

The sheer fucking arrogant entitlement of this woman.

"I'm not doing this for you, I'm doing this for me." As one of the men are telling her she's destroying private property.

I'm looking for some books/ a book about Taiwan. Specifically about the KMT and the civil war between them and the CPC.

I'm struggling to find anything in my local libraries showing the fascist nature of the KMT. Everything I've found is from a western viewpoint.

Any other recommended reading not about Taiwan is also very appreciated. I'm trying to build up a small physical library of knowledge.

Also, if there's anyone familiar with Cape Town, South Africa; i know there's a bookshop somewhere here that sells these types of books, if anyone can point me to this bookshop please. I'm not sure if it was in Obs or somewhere else, i truly don't remember.

Hey, i agree. And i would say that i was one of those people when i joined lemmy.

I was apolitical because i was clueless but leaned towards liberal only because that was the default political sentiment around me. I hope that makes sense, I'm not quite sure how to describe it. It's like i knew something was very wrong with society but honestly couldn't pinpoint anything.

I left reddit and came to lemmy because i was on the piracy sub and the top mod recommended everyone move to lemmy.

And that's kind of how i found hexbear first, and then lemmygrad. Some people complained about hexbear and i thought let me check out what they're complaining about. I went through a few posts and i was honestly thunderstruck. Here are people that feel exactly the way i feel and can actually explain to me why I'm feeling that way and exactly what's wrong with everything around us.

I won't lie, it did take a lot of reading of posts to shed myself of the default liberal way of looking at things.

So that's my perspective of coming from a liberal way of thinking. You guys do good work. I know i have a long way to go but i just started reading the communist manifesto and one of Noam Chomky's books. And my copy of "The east is still red" is on it's way to me. So you did make a difference, to me at least.

Also @ExotiqueMatter, you might not remember a comment you made to me a few months ago i think, it might not have seemed like much but it sort of made me happy and encouraged lol. Thanks for that.
