I remember one of the least controversial things Elon did on Twitter that sparked a lot of outrage, which was add "State sponsored media" tags to NPR, the BBC, etc. & there was a huge uproar & a few of them stopped posting on Twitter as a result.

In contrast, CGTN & RT always had those tags

I remember saying "it's literally called 'National Public Radio....'"

What could possibly go wrong

But on that, Sanders has been a VERY outspoken critic of the Isreali government's genocide in Gaza and the absurd financial support the US provides for it.

He might criticize the financial support because he thinks "Israel" has "gone too far" but he still supports "Israel's right to defend itself". Which is the fundamental issue that created this genocidal dynamic in the first place.

If you want a slimy and corrupt US politician to rage about, there's no shortage to pick from, so it's honestly weird that you're throwing a fit over the one who is actually trying to help people.

That is very debatable, but it will suffice to say that he sucks just like the rest of them & it's fine & good to criticize him. I will never understand people who go out of their way to defend politicians lol. Grow up

I have thought about trying to join a tech co-op many times. Still would. I think one thing that I suppose rubs me the wrong way is most of them are digital agencies which take on custom products. It would be really nice to actually create a product for people. I feel co-ops would be more responsive to their user based in general & therefore would be better candidates to build social media networks, ride share co-ops, etc.

They're supposed to come down AND they don't give it a shit what the damage is

She called trans issues (specifically Republicans trying to enact a bathroom ban) a distraction too. Pick me ass

Yes. They used multiple arguments that were straight up genocide denial (human shields, Hamas actually blew up those hospitals, etc)

I am personally very sad that the main line of argument that Democrats have taken against criminalizing trans women is "this will hurt cis women", because who the fuck cares about trans women right??

I didn't expect much & was still disappointed

The first half of that video is honestly not bad. If he cut it off there it would have been fine & pretty much true.

In my experience Firefox gives you more privacy than the mainstream browsers (chrome, edge, safari) & is a good way to move away from them, but it's a non-profit in Silicon Valley so that comes with limitations. The new privacy policy is certainly concerning & I'm personally to the point where I'm ready to try something else.

College literally made me realize that just because one person belongs to a marginalized group doesn’t mean that they cant been huge assholes and liberals in other ways against other marginalized groups.

Yeah, this was what I learned making the switch from Twitter to open source social media a few years back. Twitter was becoming worse & worse specifically with harassment campaigns by white queers against Black queers so I ended up trying to find a better space that was more open to talking about racism. I thought I was fine if I found a specifically LGBTQ server but most of them have huge racism problems. The only corner I found is mostly Black & they are constantly being accused of shit, being called unreasonable or aggressive, etc by white queers. I also noticed they have a lot of ableism in those spaces. I usually see them parroting State Dept talking points too.

Local Discord banned me & called me a Nazi for defending Hamas lol. It's everywhere.

What's that quote about wrestling a pig in the mud?

Fedi is very liberal. Support for Ukraine is a foregone conclusion generally, & I also found out the server I was on (an LGBTQ server) was moderated by a zionist when I started talking about the genocide.

I did find a corner where disability justice, imperialism, & trans liberation were the baseline, but it took a while
