Stumbled upon this video. Seems really interesting. SPJ is really enjoyable to listen to, as always.

I'm kind of a beginner... Can someone explain why you would make/use/have a dynamically and/or weak typed language? Is it just to not write some toInteger / as u64 / try_from()? I mean the drawbacks seem to outweigh the benefits...

Democracy Now! news clip containing info about Uranium weapons already in Ukraine (supplied by the UK), as well as info about Uranium weapons used in the past (in Iraq), and the effects of their use.

What's going on?! Everyone claiming they own X... while in fact everyone owns X...

I use Emacs, but only because I don't want to use VSCode (spyware) or VSCodium (even that does not get all the telemetry out by default, and anyway, it's like using Chromium...). But Emacs is NOT good for my OCD... Too much time configuring things I don't really care about. And I don't code as much as actual (professionals) programmers (I'm a mathematician), so I basically use my mouse a lot...

Anyway has anyone tried Lapce? Is it any good?

I downvoted your post and laughed, but then I took it back. Sorry

Wake up sheepole The fact the guy likes the Shining and retro video games does not make him a good person, let alone someone who respects your freedom.

I mean if you don't know what the software in the headset that you own does... WTF?! It could be doing anything: What data does it collect? What do they do with that data? Even if you read and understood the license, they could be going against it without you ever finding out. Not even thinking about your right to modify what your headset does, or distributing your patches...

I'm using FOSSasis, and I hope you guys make the switch as well. It's free (as in freedom) and decentralized: meaning if you don't like what a Server is doing (that what we call Worlds in FOSSasis), you can make your own, and you can still visit any Server that has not defederated from you. There are also plans to make it possible to transfer accounts between Servers. The economy is much fairer: every transaction is on the blockchain, so you know there is no manufactured Credit inflation.

As for the stupid Easter Egg Hunt: let the slaves fight for who is going to be master... In FOSSasis we are all masters of our own destinies.

Kind of crazy that Ubuntu has some packages exclusively as snaps...

Chromium could be spying on you, as it communicates with google servers. You should use ungoogled-chromium, and hope they did a good job...

spoileror just use Firefox

I was curious why CERN and Fermilab chose AlmaLinux instead of Rocky Linux. After googling, I found out that the Rocky Enterprise Software Foundation, which controls Rocky Linux, is a public-benefit corporation. This is a for-profit type of corporation, unlike what the name suggests. The AlmaLinux OS Foundation is a 501(c)(6) non-profit, which in my mind is clearly the type of organization that should control such an OS.
