A community for everything related to Palestine and the occupation currently underway by the occupying force known as Israel.

Anti-Zionism is not anti-Semitism. Existence is resistance for Palestinians.

Please refer to Israel as Occupied Palestine, or occupied territories. The IDF is a fascist and ethnonationalist occupying force. Israelis are settlers. We understand however that the imperial narrative (which tries to legitimise Israel) is internalised in the imperial core and slip-ups are naturally expected.

We always take the sides of Palestine and Palestinians and are unapologetic about it. Israel is an occupying power whose "defence force"'s (note the contradiction) sole purpose for existing is to push Palestinians out so they can resettle their rightful land. If you have anything positive to say about Israel we do not care.

Hamas has released American-Israeli soldier Edan Alexander. He is en route to Ream in southern Israel, where his mother is waiting for him. His release comes after direct talks between Hamas and the US. The Palestinian group says the US citizen was released “a short while ago following contacts with the US administration”. “This comes as part of the efforts being made by mediators to achieve a ceasefire, open the crossings, and allow aid and relief to reach our people in the Gaza Strip,” it said in a statement. Hamas also urged the US administration “to continue its efforts to end this brutal war waged by the war criminal Netanyahu against children, women, and defenceless civilians in the Gaza Strip”.

I'm not the biggest fan of BE, i think his online persona can be grating at times, and his takes on China are very half-baked and borderline ignorant, but on this issue he is 100% right. Everyone needs to hear this. If you invite liberal Zionists and Zionist apologist socdem politicians on your stream and don't call them out as the supporters and enablers of genocide that they are, you don't get to call yourself "pro-Palestinian".

Also included on the BDS list are:

  • Reebok
  • Carrefour
  • AXA
  • Siemens
  • Sodastream
  • Teva
  • Booking.com
  • WiX

I was surprised at how difficult it was to find an up-to-date list of all the targets of the BDS Boycott. The pinned post on the official bds movement Instagram is now outdated. And searching for the list leads to outdated links and apps that don't direct you towards a clear and concise list. More companies have been added to the list. Reebok and Microsoft (which own Xbox) are now boycott targets. Please remember that the BDS boycott works due to it targeting a handful of companies. It is up to you whether you want to target those not on the list.

Let me know if I have missed a company and I will be sure to edit this post and add them to the list.

Hamas is not a terrorist but a resistance group. It hasn’t blindly killed large numbers of innocent civilians, despite Israel’s atrocity propaganda.

October 7 wasn’t a terrorist attack although some innocent […] civilians died, in so far as a population which is highly militarised and integrated into the army can ever be described as innocent. Despite the lurid stories of 40 Beheaded Babies, it turned out that just one […] baby died and that was accidental, a bullet through a window.

The organisation responsible for spreading much of this atrocity propaganda, Zaka, an ultra-orthodox NGO, was later revealed in Ha’aretz to be in a precarious financial health and to have tried to take advantage of the tragedy to garner donations. Before October 7, the organization faced insolvency. In the time since, says a source at Zaka, they have raised over 50 million shekels ($13.7 million).

[…]

On October 7, one third of the Israelis who died, 373, were military and police. Many, perhaps the majority, of the rest were killed by Israel itself as part of the Hannibal Directive. See How Israel killed hundreds of its own people on 7 October.

The breakout from Gaza on October 7 was a legitimate resistance operation by those whose land had been occupied for 57 years. For years Palestinians in Gaza had been subject to massive Israeli bombing (Operations Cast Lead, 2008–8; Operation Pillar of Defense, Operation Protective Edge, 2014; the Great Return March and many other such attacks). Israeli military called such attacks ‘mowing the grass’.

October 7 was no different from the fight of the Vietnamese against the Americans half a century before. October 7 was the Palestinians’ Tet Offensive.
