I just think she probably should have already been weirded out when he started babbling about a politician, Donald Trump no less (to be clear, I'm not trying to be snide here, I agree with you, it's extremely weird to worship Trump like this) being saved by God from assassination because he was "chosen."

She literally states herself this is the first time he’s ever done. It’s very possible she’s not really attuned to political discourse and this guy hid his wacky behavior as men are wont to do.

She did say they had disagreed politically before. I think that in the framework of American politics that's basically a 95% chance she's vaguely lib he's vaguely fascist. What theLepidopterists said is totally fair given that.
