Doesn't the company behind r/WorkReform control r/antiwork now? Banning RedNote and TikTok seems like an effective way way to shutter union/organizing discourse

I'd love to know more about it, is there a company involved?! Last time I checked that cesspool there was a migration of antiwork users to /WorkReform after one of the mods gave that pathetic interview for TV media.

Damn why I like slop so much. Shame on me... visible-disgust

@Awoo@hexbear.net posted about it (more on reddit-logo), how the mods of r/WorkReform are CIBC-affiliated (including the top mod) or company CTOs.

There was a takeover of r/antiwork after the top mod (u/AbolishWork) resigned after the Fox interview. From Awoo:

Antiwork wasn't an op but fintech shitheads successfully damaged it after the atrocious interview that mod did and neoliberals then managed to infiltrate it to dilute the team and fuck up any possibility of it becoming something powerful for pushing organising among the left. The attack to undermine it was very much an op and a successful one at that.

But that was 2 years ago, maybe Awoo knows if anything has changed since then, and how it related to the current ban on XiaoHongShu and TikTok content.

@sovietknuckles@hexbear.net

Workreform was created as a replacement for antiwork in the fallout of the event. As I remember it the mods of workreform were doxxed as CIBC finance ghouls then replaced themselves to hide it.

CIBC ghouls weren't in the antiwork team prior to the fox news event. But they may have got in afterwards. Due to all the drama that occurred and the topmod leaving, along with a bunch of other mods leaving the team, reddit itself forced the subreddit to take on more mods and basically injected a bunch of neoliberal powermods into the team. This was done because the whole sub was in meltdown and nobody was really moderating it.

I've also had personal run ins with one of the highest mods on that sub, belleariel, who has been heavily involved with anti-tankie ops in the past. She's not a fed though just a terminally online problematic person, she was doxxed once on another internet forum.

maybe Awoo knows if anything has changed since then

Nothing changed since then. I consider it a liberal-run subreddit. The modteam of antiwork are libs overseeing a subreddit community absolutely dominated by radicals. Workreform on the other hand is 100% an op run by finance ghouls.
