Lots of the comments even there on reddit-logo are calling this bullshit for the bullshit it is.

None of the 28 non-bot mods have responded, and they hid behind AutoModerator to announce it. They won't reverse it because they knew in advance that it would be unpopular

what a fucking dork InFoRmAtiOn wArFaRe

also love it when they don't expand on what they mean by ccp affiliated content, just that they're a hostile state (they're not) and leaving it there

gotta love xi, just sit there and watch the anglos shit themselves at his aura

Doesn't the company behind r/WorkReform control r/antiwork now? Banning RedNote and TikTok seems like an effective way way to shutter union/organizing discourse

[–] WasteTime@hexbear.net 10 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

I'd love to know more about it, is there a company involved?! Last time I checked that cesspool there was a migration of antiwork users to /WorkReform after one of the mods gave that pathetic interview for TV media.

Damn why I like slop so much. Shame on me... visible-disgust

@Awoo@hexbear.net posted about it (more on reddit-logo), how the mods of r/WorkReform are CIBC-affiliated (including the top mod) or company CTOs.

There was a takeover of r/antiwork after the top mod (u/AbolishWork) resigned after the Fox interview. From Awoo:

Antiwork wasn't an op but fintech shitheads successfully damaged it after the atrocious interview that mod did and neoliberals then managed to infiltrate it to dilute the team and fuck up any possibility of it becoming something powerful for pushing organising among the left. The attack to undermine it was very much an op and a successful one at that.

But that was 2 years ago, maybe Awoo knows if anything has changed since then, and how it related to the current ban on XiaoHongShu and TikTok content.

@sovietknuckles@hexbear.net

Workreform was created as a replacement for antiwork in the fallout of the event. As I remember it the mods of workreform were doxxed as CIBC finance ghouls then replaced themselves to hide it.

CIBC ghouls weren't in the antiwork team prior to the fox news event. But they may have got in afterwards. Due to all the drama that occurred and the topmod leaving, along with a bunch of other mods leaving the team, reddit itself forced the subreddit to take on more mods and basically injected a bunch of neoliberal powermods into the team. This was done because the whole sub was in meltdown and nobody was really moderating it.

I've also had personal run ins with one of the highest mods on that sub, belleariel, who has been heavily involved with anti-tankie ops in the past. She's not a fed though just a terminally online problematic person, she was doxxed once on another internet forum.

maybe Awoo knows if anything has changed since then

Nothing changed since then. I consider it a liberal-run subreddit. The modteam of antiwork are libs overseeing a subreddit community absolutely dominated by radicals. Workreform on the other hand is 100% an op run by finance ghouls.

"Hostile foreign government"? My guy, half the shit you use on a day-to-day basis comes from China!

[–] PolandIsAStateOfMind@lemmygrad.ml 10 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I seen Japanese show where they tested few people saying they will boycott Chinese products and they agree to do a test - go to their homes and take out everything made in China. One of them was left with almost empty house and few others nearly there.

How long until Reddit also goes completely right wing for free speech reasons?

[–] FunkyStuff@hexbear.net 26 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Comrade, the whole reason this website exists is that they already did

[–] Cimbazarov@hexbear.net 9 points 1 week ago

True. Though, I still see some anti-capitalist stuff on the front page at times

[–] iByteABit@hexbear.net 17 points 1 week ago

What do you mean "until"

pigmask-off wholesome

[–] Homer_Simpson@hexbear.net 21 points 1 week ago

More upset about this than Trump tbh.

I honestly this this is some kind of Reddit admin push to promote BlueSky or whatever it's called. The activity on the Reddit threads seems incredibly inorganic. Like on sports subreddits, the posts about banning X/Meta are getting more upvotes in a few hours than their teams winning the Champions league or Premier League!

This is being botted heavily, that much is obvious.

[–] Maturin@hexbear.net 15 points 1 week ago

Is there any organic content on Reddit these days? Outside of super-niche hobby subs?

[–] whatdoiputhere12@hexbear.net 9 points 1 week ago

better late than never i suppose. it took melon-musk doing a nazi salute for X to finally be banned, when it could have been done long ago when we already knew he's a complete piece of shit before the salute

[–] PostyourJaggaHogs@hexbear.net 20 points 1 week ago

They just didn't want to be viewed as anti-Nazi, they're anti-both-sides so it's okay, fascists can still enjoy it!
