Also they just credulously assume Trump can do anything he says he wants to do and that there aren't actual forces that will restrain his stupid ideas.

It's all to maintain Trump 'exceptionalism of evil', with this Pied Piper tactic they constructed in 2016

Point 1 called for forcing "all Republican candidates to lock themselves into extreme conservative positions that will hurt them in a general election."

That way, while the wolf, that is Trump and the republicans, increases its pack, scare and attacks people away rabidly, simultaneously he drives potential voters in the more alluring wide open smile of the fox we call the democrats
