Jon Stewart – A political outsider, but one who commands attention, shreds hypocrisy, and has a long track record of actually getting things done, like securing healthcare for 9/11 first responders and veterans. He doesn’t just talk—he fights.

Fuck me, they really are eternally stuck in 2005.

That comment has both em dashes and en dashes. Consisting how the rest of that list in it is written, there's no chance it's not written by an LLM. At best this means the sub, like much of Reddit, is chock full of bots, but there's also the possibility that these are real people unwilling to traverse to the ends of their own skull.

I thought that was weird, but chalked it up to them being the kind of nerd who'd care about using em dashes in a Reddit comment.

Those em and en dashes really are the quickest red flag to spot LLM content, is there a reason why the models love using those?

Pure conjecture but maybe the tech bros liked them so much they pushed the thing to use them as often as possible. I can't imagine the training data being filled to the brim with any particular punctuation.

"I liked my material conditions in 2005, and in the 20 years since, I have learned nothing about dialectical materialism."

I thought they still hated Stewart for pointing out that Biden was old as hell

what an extremely silly reason to hate someone who gave a medal to an azov nazi...

I was younger and more naive then but there was a period where I thought Jon Stewart could have actually made a competitive run for office.

I haven't watched any of the new stuff but his old show was part of my pathway to the commie dweeb I am now, and my biggest criticism of him back then was that he refused to spearhead a movement with the audience he had built
