You remember correctly. From the DXVK conf file:

# Report Nvidia GPUs as AMD GPUs by default. This is enabled by default
# to work around issues with NVAPI, but may cause issues in some games.
#
# Supported values: True, False

# dxgi.nvapiHack = True
