My favorite color is gray, but my British collegue says his favourite color is grey. Ugh... Bri🤮ish people, amirite? /s

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 9 points 2 months ago

Why the hell can't you spell colour?!

[–] 0ops@lemm.ee 2 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

I'm American, but somehow learned and got used to spelling it "grey" instead of "gray". I have no clue how that happened.

Your teacher was a secret MI6 Agent, obviously.

I get the joke, but seems more like German auto correction

[–] remotelove@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 months ago

True. It does match the profile, but I am usually not in the habit of profile diving unless I smell a troll.

Seems to me this person might be German (considering the username as well) and used the German word by accident.

Mistakes are OK! (I added the word "intentional" as an afterthought to cover this contingency as the statement still remains true.)

[–] vk6flab@lemmy.radio 4 points 2 months ago

So "international poor spelling" ?

[–] wide_eyed_stupid@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Yeah, don't worry, I get it. Just thought I'd give a possible explanation. ;)

[–] Goldholz@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 2 months ago
