Yep, the DPRK and an ultranationalist russia make a military alliance and korea decides to invade the USA after a big cyber attack and during an economic crisis with russian help

a fun fact is that there was a game that came out a year before the movie about also a DPRK invasion of the USA, also because they wanted to use china originally but didnt want to get banned in china

I believe the game is Homefront, and I remember some friends being very into it and the Red Dawn remake...
