In case you didn't know.
The plane isn't some special gift the Qataris built special for Donnie.
It's a white elephant they've been trying to unload for years.
It's like a fat guy giving the pizza kid the old bike he hasn't ridden since he got over the DUI restrictions.
Trump also asked for it. Before it was offered. So he literally asked for this bribe.....
Trump could have just called the Saudis on Inauguration Day 2016 and told them his Swiss Bank. He'd have had more money and could have just watched TV for eight years. Greedy and not bright.
Additionally, the "fat guy" very likely loaded the "bike" with surveillance-ware and surveillance gadgetry before giving the "pizza kid" the "bike"...
Certainly loaded the bike with surveillance as did all the fat guy's friends and some of their enemies too.

Also apparently the kid asked the fat guy for the bike in the first place, but said the fat guy had to say it was a gift because the kid has a fragile ego.
Nah, they don't have to. Trump is so simple minded, and predictable, they can predict at very high certainty what he'll do.
See, that's the icing on the cake.
Dummy Donny was raised so rich that he doesn't know the actual value of anything, and he's so needy from his narcissism, that any "appropriate" gift can manipulate him. Qatar knows this. The entire world knows this. But, they'll get big favors for it, favors that actually matter. They win.
Trump sees it as Tribute, and it is, sadly. And he'll return a favor for Qatar. For something they couldn't unload before. But, they'll come out much better on the exchange.
The art of the deal by the guy whose companies filed for bankrupcy six times.
That's a bit unfair...you have not mentioned the many other failed businesses that didn't end in bankruptcy!!
And expecting free pizza for the rest of the decade for it
Hopefully a white elephant with lots of unknown problems and glitches that only pop up at 30k feet.
And hopefully on the first and only flight.

Sadly, the Air Force has to rebuild it so it can serve as a Presidential plane. That means the 'gift' will cost the taxpayers more than just building a new jet would. One of the reasons the emirs needed to get rid of it is that 747s are old tech and there aren't a lot of mechanics who specialize in them any more.
It is also helping them cover up the brachside resort and golf course and theme park they are building with him.

The last time they couldn't sell one of their 747s, they gifted it to Turkeys president.
