June 22nd, 2025: Day 22

  • Brush: Maggard Razors - Tuxedo 24mm Synthetic
  • Razor: Gold Dollar Straight Razor (6)
  • Lather: Stirling Soap Co. - Lavender Sage - Soap
  • Post Shave: Chatillon Lux - Sni Mato - Aftershave
  • Post Shave: Dove - Men+Care Ultra-Hydra - Cream
  • Fragrance: Berceuse Parfum - Allegretto 7.2 - EdP

Theme justification: it says in the rules that this one is on theme. Easy!

Lavender Sage into Sni Mato into Allegretto 7.2 makes no sense at all. I should have used this combo for non-complimentary clash day. Woof.

I can't believe this razor still shaves. Honestly it's decent, but in my non-expert opinion it might be ready for a refresh despite having only been used a handful of times.

This was the very first straight razor I got, and right away I put a chip in by using it as a knife because why not. So it was the first razor I ever honed, removing a bunch of material to get rid of the chip. So the fact that it actually works is surprising.

So the fact that it actually works is surprising.

This can be true for a new Gold Dollar :). I think refreshing the edge more frequently makes sense when you’re becoming accustomed to a straight razor. It helps to focus on technique when you’re confident that the edge is good.
