Did he not paint, like, a billion of those water lilly paintings? I am pretty sure some of his paintings are the exact same just with some colours switched out lol

he did, and while the purple water lilies actually existed in his garden, he painted them with very bright blues and purples because his cataracts made those colors weaker in his vision, so to him they looked normal. when he finally got surgery he was appalled at what he had painted and in his rage destroyed some of his paintings from that period.

Yeah over 250. That one in the OP is specifically famous because it's part of a Munich art museum's collection of Modern Art, the Neue Pinakothek. It's famous for having a lot of its art confiscated by the Nazis during WWII. It's home to a lot of Picassos, Van Goughs, Monets, Manets, and works by Max Liebermann.
