California governor. Got rich from Daddy's wine empire, started up as San Francisco Mayor back in 2005? It's well known in California he wants to be President since 2015, at least. He's a very Obama-esque, corporate Democrat doing everything to hurt progressive policies while saying all the right sounding things.

I will, unfortunately, say his public speaking and PR is incredibly good. I fucking hate this dude, but it's true. Watch some of the debate with Ron DeSantis and you'll quickly see what I mean.

edit: Also anecdote: Kamala Harris fucking hates Newsom. They were both going for Governor at the same time back in 2017,2018. He did some rat fuck shit with the California DNC and became the front-runner.
