Underfunding education, social security while keeping people working paycheck to paycheck really works wonders in that regard
Noooooo shit.
I mean sure no shit but my comment was more a comment on how people are just too exhausted to take action.
Maybe I'm only speaking for my self but I know I'm trying. I'm not going to nearly as many protests as I should, I go when I have the time/space/energy and even than it's such a drain on the psyche cause of all the other shit I have to deal with that it's hard to go to the next. I really applaud and support everyone going to protest this whole fascist trend everything is going towards, but I also understand that there are people who do not have the headspace to do it, me included most of the time.
Personal example
Last week I took part of a pro feminine "take back the night" protest as an ally. A girl friend of mine said she was going and I said I would like to join too even if I have to join late because of work. So I joined them half way through the march, and at some point she pointed out some prolific zionist who likes to record leftists protest for fun and post them on his zionist channel. Mind you, I on one hand dont give a flying fuck if you see me in one of these protests because it is something I believe in, but knowing that you're being recorded and reposted in far right group chats does take a toll on you. Especially when, not a week earlier, a couple of guys were brutally assaulted while walking home after joining a counter protests. In the end, as a cishet guy I do feel appreciated being there because my friend said that it's important that there's also guys walking the march. And I recognize that I am not the one who is a victim of, nor the reasom why we are doing these marches. But even than, I don't feel safe when walking with them, let alone what my fellow protestor who are actually victims of this shit feel because of those right wing lunatics. I can fully understand people not wanting to join such a thing, even tho in the end it's the right thing to do. It takes a fucking toll on you.
Apologies... My comment didn't come across as intended. It was supposed to be an exhasperated agreement with your statement, not a 3rd grade "no duh" moment. My exasperation echoes your own exhaustion and depleted emotional energy.
I think I was trying to channel Socko:
Love you brother/person,
Socko is based af and I will take that to my grave
I hope you learned your lesson
