I mean the impact likely set off a bunch of tectonic activity and intense volcanic activity increases greenhouse gases, and dinosaurs ultimately died due to habitat loss and not direct blunt force trauma so... Volcanoes are maybe sequelae 2 or 3 in a chain of interrelated consequences.

That made me wonder if it's theoretically possible to die from blunt force trauma from a dinosaur-ending-sized meteor.

I mean, for starters, there's gotta be a huge shockwave of plasma around it. Besides, at that scale, in such a short time, I think it's hard to clearly define an actual cause of death; At some point you suddenly stop being alive and start being physics.
