So we agree to:
give them $1000 for every man woman and child in the US
pull our military out of the Middle East
let them sponsor terrorism across the region
And in return, they agree to start negotiations
————————
Are you tired of all this winning yet?
???
Who were the terrorists in this exchange again?
America is a terrorist state. Screaming freedom all the time doesn't change the truth.
"let them sponsor terrorism"
man, americans can't see themselves, can they
Well sew that was last week. We haven't been terrorists in ages. Promise.
They always know better. Trump will MAGA, you'll see. When he dies or gets jailed.
That seems highly subjective; and given whom America supports, Iran my not seem like the worst sponsor in the region.
Isreal is the modern terrorist organization, and they are hurting the whole world.
That being said Hamas sucks too.
Yet Israel also funds Hamas.
Yeah, man. You know that kid who threw the rock at his lifelong bully and torturer? ThEy'Re ThE SaMe kInD Of bAd.
More like threw rocks at the bully’s little sister while she was at a concert and had nothing to do with the bully’s actions. Nothing wrong with resistance, but targets matter and in this case Hamas chose poorly and lost the optics advantage they could’ve had on the international stage. Two wrongs don’t make a right.
Hamas didn't choose poorly per se; they didn't even know about the festival and the other places they attacked did have IDF bases that seemed to be the main targets. Now that doesn't excuse the atrocities committed during October 7th, but save for the hostage taking there's no evidence any of them were planned by Hamas leadership. Their real sin here is allowing these atrocities to happen and not cracking down on them before or after the fact. At the risk of repeating myself, October 7th did include plenty of war crimes, but it was more targeted than people give it credit for. To run with your analogy, it's like going to throwing rocks at the bully and also tossing some at their little sister because she happened to be there.
Its more like grabbing the little sister because the Bully has your dad, uncle and brother captive in what used to be your basement. So you take her as a bargaining chip up to the treehouse all the while the bully is indiscriminately pelting you with rocks. Hitting you and his own sister multiple times, while actively trying to collapse the treehouse holding you and his sister.
Those are the hostages; I was referring to the other stuff (you know, the rapes and massacres and all that). A lot of what Hamas did on October 7th was pointless and unjustifiable and a lot was legitimate resistance against a colonial oppressor; there's no reason to ignore one part for the other.
