/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

Star Trek: how alien can we make this actor look for 5 dollars and 32 cents?

[–] _NetNomad@fedia.io 38 points 1 week ago (1 children)

"this actor" statistically being Jeffrey Combs

[–] EnsignWashout@startrek.website 25 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

But one time it wasn't Jeffery Combs.

Edit: I looked it up - it was Jeffery Combs, that time, too. Nevermind.

every sentient species is identical from the clavicles on down.

Well, yes, but actually, no.

The original Klingons in TOS were just people. Beyond that, they're different.

Edit: wait, from the clavicle down they're still the same, even in the new series.

Man, old age hits Klingons like a truck.

Klingon don't cling on.

he's, like, 140 in that picture. the actor John Collins who played him was 71.

Collins is also one of few actors to consistently play the same character in 3 series (TOS, TAS, DS9) and for over 30 years, pretty much right up until he died

(It was meant to be a joke about the makeup changes between TOS and DS9, pretending the forehead ridges were extreme wrinkles.)

At least for humans, skin is an organ. So I am imagining that Klingons have an extra skin somewhere like as a pouch, and when their main skin is too damaged, all of their bones and shit slide into the spare skin.

[–] homes@piefed.world 13 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

maybe they just have extra layers, making their skin very thick?

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 13 points 1 week ago

And for surviving reproduction

[–] homes@piefed.world 8 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

It is still a matter of debate whether Klingons have two penises or simply have two urethrae in one gigantic penis. We’re just gonna have to see a naked male Klingon to be absolutely sure…

However, since they can easily mate with females of other humanoid species, I think the latter is far more likely. How would two penises even work anyway? Do Klingon women have two vaginas? And how would THAT work?

[–] dohpaz42@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Not to get too graphic, but human women have two holes very close in proximity to each other.

~The rest, as they say, is an exercise for the reader.~

[–] homes@piefed.world 7 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

No, no… Go ahead and get graphic. Draw me a picture and post it.

See, I wouldn’t know, because I do not have sex with women (human or otherwise). And, being a man, I can’t get my second hole down there, as I’m simply not that flexible.
