A whole year!!!
a year of saving, a year of looking for a house, a year of organising a loan, what took a year ??????
because that is just unbelieveable

A year of talking to banks to be approved for a loan iirc.
Neglecting to remember my dad, who has never owned his own house and only had one child which he never had any custody of, despite working his arse off since he was 18 and kicked out by Opa (their relationship has long since been repaired).
She's out of touch. She's a wonderful person, but so woefully unaware of the struggles of her youngest brother, let alone her own children or niblings.
