I've got a cousin moving to Australia in a couple of weeks. It'll be the first family member I've seen since I was in high school.

Kind of exciting, but also nervous.

As someone who has relatives in other countries that I barely know, I would say don’t put too much pressure on it. If you click well and become friends that’s really awesome. But if you haven’t had contact for a long time (or ever?), look at it like meeting a stranger. Not everyone will be compatible and if you don’t feel a connection that’s ok too.

I'm an only child and my cousins we're like my siblings.

We don't talk much (distance and time zones)... but we're still close...if that makes sense
