He was old as fuck with arteriosclerosis coming from 24 straight hours of travel. He was "fine" days before but died because of the travel. Airline cabins aren't pressurized to sea level, so that pressure change is likely what got him. Going from low to high and back to low and back to high can kill old people
Also deep vein thrombosis is a killer.
