They were very open about their mistake and simply owned up to it. No bullshit. That's to be commended. And they promised to do better.

TIL Poland education system is so fucked that Poland QA team is dumb as fuck and know nothing about their own fucking history. This only make sense if the international team handling this is in USA which I expect the worse thing possible so it's make total sense that they could do this level of mistake of using no only one Nazi symbol but TWO together.
They probably posted it from a PC. This only manifested on mobile devices for them, and they didn't check them before sending, is my understanding.
Sometimes people make mistakes, dude, Jesus. Chill. They owned up to their mistake.
Nah, they use the SS and two symbols that together look like the black sun. Even in their excuse that is not actually the SS but some pagan symbol why put two of them? + the sun ones. All their explanations sound like excuses. They messed up big time with either AI or someone who shouldn't be working with them and every QA was not paying attention. A simple "we fucked up big sorry" was better.

It's a "kolovrat" and it looks like that.
To me this is just an honest and naive mistake. That turned out very bad in the end, but nonetheless.
Kolovrat is one thing, ss runes were unmistakable and the explanation “that’s our ancestry” made it worse since they’ve used greek symbols instead of the rune, and 2 of them together. Even developers said they had no explanation for that.
That was a nazi dog whistle and gog didn’t even try to distance themselves from nazis, not even saying “nazi bad” after the whole thing.
Everyone involved has said it was a serious and honest mistake, and they will try to do better in the future. I personally don't need more than that. I don't believe they have anything to gain from sending Nazi political messages in their newsletters. Nobody with any sense could believe there's any gain in that for a game company.
For me, this is water under the bridge. Not a nothing burger of course, it was a serious mistake, as stated. But it's over now. Forgiven but not forgotten. Let's move on.
Oh I think that is very likely but it's odd that this is not what GOG said but the game dev. They don't want to be associated with using AI? They think this sound like an excuse? To me the other explanations sound more like an excuse than this.
