It makes sense from a US point of view. German politicians apparently represent international/US finance capital more than German/European industry.
German bourgeoisie is actually part of the global Wall Street financial bourgeoisie. This is why they don't care.
Makes sense. Post-war West Germany was completely rebuilt to be the USA’s military base nearest the Eastern Bloc and subsequently using American finance to rebuild economically.
After reunification this became the case for all of Germany.
Yes they don’t have to maintain a internal base of power they nourish themselves with, their base of power is in Washington and the IMF.
If people would look at Germanies decisions from the last couple decades as the lap dogs of the US then it makes much more sense. Turns out t our leaders aren't stupid nor incompetent but our media plays along pretending it is all a mistake and not going according to the plan (even if it is a shoddy one, but then it is the losing camp).
Been the case since Merkel at the latest.
