Showing your unreliability to your biggest trading partner is a great idea. 🤓
It's an especially brilliant idea at a time when China increasingly has no more need of German products because it is now manufacturing them itself and better. Who needs German car exports when you have the world's biggest EV industry? Machine tools are now also something China increasingly produces itself. Microchips we already know China is practically caught up. What do the Chinese need from the Germans? Bratwurst? And why would anyone assume that if Germany does this it won't just motivate China to further develop domestic industries to substitute a now clearly unreliable trade partner? Did the sanctions on Russia not do exactly that?
Yes, and China is now addressing its own weak spot which is food self reliance. Expect that they will rely each year less on imported soybeans, meat, corn and other products. The thing is, China can turn to a more planned economy focused on their huge internal market, while capitalists simply can't, right?
And until they do that they still have Russia which is a big food exporter. Another way in which the Russia+China pairing is a perfect symbiosis, just like with energy. Russia has a lot of what China needs and vice versa.
I hope that with Europe intensifying its war with Russia, the pro-EU faction in the Duma and the Kremlin get completely sidelined.
I think we're solidly past that point already. That has already happened a while ago. Russia is arguably more hardline toward the West (or at least toward Europe) now than even Iran.
But I still hear every now and then from political analytics that some of these pests are still flying around and still buzzing. I simply hope the symbiosis with China and antagonism with the West reach such a point that any lingering pro-West sentiment will simply be exploded. China has its reasons to be cautiously improving relations with Russia.
Yeah, those types are always going to be there. They exist in China, they exist in Iran and they exist in Russia. Maybe the only country that doesn't have them is the DPRK. Another reason why the DPRK is the best country in the world. That and its complete lack of public advertising.
