I have to keep reminding myself that China's drug policy has its origin in historical trauma and the opinions of its people reflects that. They really think weed is like heroin or something it's tragic.

My Chinese comrade told me when the exodus to xhs happened to remember that it was very much the Instagram equivalent used by mostly the well-to-do Chinese on the mainland. It is still very much a particular wedge of Chinese society and should be viewed as such.
