No he didn't, that photo was a joke, and he wasn't touching her at all. It was a MAGA smear campaign because there was a lot of talk about Franken running for president, and they were afraid of him, on BOTH sides.
So Schmuck Schumer turned on him, and joined the MAGA smear job to clear the decks for his Senate partner Kirsten Gillibrand to run. He ruined a good mans life and career for a stupid campaign that flamed out in a few weeks. Another way that Schmuck has deliberately hurt Democrats. Everything he does hurts Dems, and helps MAGA. Literally EVERYTHING. He should be investigated, he's a secret MAGA.

Dude... I've seen the photo. It wasn't ok. The only context that could possibly help is if the woman in the photo came out and said "I was aware of the joke prior to the photo and consented to it". Even then I would find it to be really distasteful. I'm not saying he should be in a cell, I'm saying it was a weird and gross thing to do and I'm glad he stepped down, even if he was good in other ways.
He was several feet away, he wasn't anywhere near her, it was a trick of perspective. You are judging and dismissing a good man's entire career and life based on a trick photograph.
The joke was a bad one, but it should be remembered that he was on a USO Show touring foreign bases in war zones, and those shows, going back to the 40's, were always ribald comedy, featuring bombshell female celebrities, when they could get them, (Marilyn Monroe for one), and Playboy Playmates (often) when they couldn't. That was her role. The general vibe of the show was risque humor, and that's going to be the vibe backstage as well. She admitted that she gave as good as she got on that tour.
It happened years before he was a political candidate, and she was perfectly fine with it for many years, until she became a regular on Hannity's show, and a MAGA operative. So she found this photo in her scrapbook, and exposed it. Later when it literally destroyed him, she publicly admitted that she never meant it to go that far, and regretted it.
Franken would have taken on Trump for president in 2020, and can you imagine what those debates would have been like? But Schmuck couldn't have a progressive getting too froggy, so he did was he does best, and destroyed the career of another good Democrat.
And you went along with it, and still are. Stop doing MAGA's work for them.
Are you American? I'm not. I dislike Americans because their standards are as low as you describe. "If only we could have had the guy that joked about groping sleeping women from a distance become President instead of the Child rapist. It's too bad she spoke up about it." Is what I just read^^ ignoring problematic actions is how you end up with spoiler candidates like Platner, actually is what I would argue.
I'm confused. You're getting a lot of downvotes. I can't open the linked article, so I'm not sure if I'm missing context that you're also missing or what...
