There's a queer label that still fits me offline, but online queer communities have changed the definition to be so broad that I can't feel comfortable using it anymore, nor feel any sort of belonging in those groups anymore.
I do worry it will slowly seep offline. So I know I need to be prepared for that. Words not having a clear, understandable definition makes communication extremely difficult and misunderstandings easy.
That in mind, I've also come to dislike labels, but for the reverse reason. Once used as a shorthand to communicate something clearly in a simpler one-word format that people can easily understand, now used as obscure terms that need more explaining once you say them. Defeating the entire original purpose.
I've adapted by throwing away the label, and only using a definition without need of a word attatched.
