That, sir, is purple.
Purple didn't enter English until the 7th or 8th century. Like how Orange didn't enter the language until the 13th century.
That's why everything with archaic names that are obviously purple or orange are called red: cabbage, onion, redheads, grapes, Robins, wine etc
They didn't have a word for purple back when the cabbage was named.
