Why is the "Activities behind" count between us and Lemmy.World increasing? (lemmy.ca)

Decided to check out the site above and I'm not sure if I'm reading things correctly, but it looks like we're running behind Lemmy.World by a significant amount compared to the other major instances. I'm also noticing the scores of my posts in a Lemmy.World community is not updating despite receiving upvotes.

Anyone else experiencing similar issues or any odd issues in general?

It's not just votes, or LW.

Anything you do from one instance to another instance will take time to propagate before it shows up. If you were on a LW account posting to LW, it will show up on LW near instantly. But for users on any other instance, it might take a minute for their instance to see it and serve it to them. You can replace LW with any instance in this example.

Ah, got it. I thought you meant non-LW users specifically.

That makes sense. But for my case, I waited for hours and the scores still didn't update. I used an alt that wasn't on Lemmy.ca and noticed that my posts were getting upvoted. It wasn't until now when I'm finally starting to see the votes come in.
