Aren't a lot of the oldest games in history, before computers existed, turn based strategy though? Chess, the infamous "turnslop" game.
Almost all tabletop, card and board games are all turnslop. Speed and Egyptian Ratscrew only I guess

No idea where the name came from but it's basically slapjack with advanced rules. Popular when I was a kid, absolutely ruined playing cards though
