Maybe, but people like that exist.

[–] Taldan@lemmy.world 14 points 6 days ago (3 children)

Do they?

I've never met one. I've seen plenty of rage inducing posts online though. I'm sure somewhere, someone like this exists, but it's probably rare enough most of us would never encounter someone so socially maladjusted in our entire lifetime

Which isn't to say entitled people don't exist - they do - more so that this level of oblivious entitlement is unlikely to continue existing into adulthood. Eventually it comes in conflict with reality and they learn acting like that only ends in mockery

My wife was an au pair, she's still in a few nanny/au pair Facebook groups and sees posts with asinine requirements all the time.

Once she saw a women post a nanny position for 4 kids with the same "bring your own snacks for my children" requirement and they were only paying $18/hr. Most nanny positions around here are paying $25ish depending on the hours and that's for no more than 2 kids.

That lady got flamed in the comments and left the group.

I've never met one.

My wife spent a bit of time as a nanny. It doesn't sound like you have.

I've never met one.

The kid next door once proudly told us "dad said I don't have to learn" so they take different flavors

Truthiness!

It feels right, because I find young wealthy parents to be annoying.

It only works because we've seen people actually like this. If you couldn't relate the joke falls flat.

Satire on public schooling, no?

Yeah the "make my child intelectually challenged" was the ticket. Kind of funny though.
