I assembled some (fruit) mince pies.

12 fruit mince pies on a wire rack. The pies have a star shaped top that allow you to see the fruit mince that is inside

12 fruit mince pies arranged on a ceramic plate that is decorated with Australian native flora and a Rosella

Have to ask… as a British guy who’s live in the USA for almost 20 years… is the “fruit” part a clarification this isn’t a “burger pie”?

Judging by the birds on the plate I’d wager OP is Australian. And we do usually call them fruit mince pies since “pies” mean “meat pies” and “mince” is another word for “ground meat”. So we we clarify with “fruit”.

Edit: my sleuthing talents were good enough to see the Australian birbs but not the OP’s server name “Aussie.zone” which is a little bit of a giveaway.

To a mostly Australian audience , clarification is not really needed, and certainly not for anyone British. I was trying to be mindful of a wider audience.

As a Slav, my first association with the word pie is either fruit or cheese. Now I'm wondering which countries would first think of meat.
