I have a Christmas snowflake pattern book. I did a few but mine always looked a little limp. It’s inspired me to take another look…and buy some starch

They are all flat I think, not 3D and as detailed as the OPs. But is a starting point.
Thanks for passing that along! I'll definitely pull from that next year. And I would definitely recommend starch!
This snowflake is a modified version of this pattern: https://www.etsy.com/listing/903188791/lorewoven-snowflakes-crochet-pattern-3
I really like her patterns in general. I've also found many textured or 3D snowflake diagrams on Pinterest. Those are often a bit harder to interpret and you may have to take some creative liberty with them.
I know I'm being really late in writing this, but I just wanted to thank both you and @DerEntenjager@feddit.nl for replying and giving some links. I really appreciate it.
Looking at the ring has given me a thought, if you are confident with your snowflakes…I am not 🤣. Anyways thought was the snowflake wires used to make jewelled snowflakes. I wonder if the ends could be turned to hold a bead and then the crochet up and between.
Thanks for the inspiration DerEntenjager. I enjoy seeing others Christmas creations.
With beads they end up like this. https://www.countrybeads.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/snowflake-wire-frame-examples-of-finished-beaded-snowflakes-600x600.jpg
I don't know enough about beading! But I really like the idea of adding beads to these and I bet it wouldn't be too hard. Maybe that's what I'll try next year!
I was thinking more as these as an inner frame. You would likely need at least a bead at the end to anchor to.
It would take some thinking for the patten though.
In terms of how they are usually used there are lots of inspiring out there and they turn out pretty. I usually collect old necklaces/bracelets through the year to use up. Just remember you always need 6 of each bead.
