Cassette tapes, mid to late 90s, then CDs in the 00s.
I got introduced to punk (Dead Kennedys, Rancid, Black Flag), hip hop (too many artists to mention), D&B and Jungle.
I never shared music via cassette, but I did have a radio/cd player/cassette player. It's speakers were translucent blue plastic, and I'd use tapes to record songs off the radio. Timing it just right to get most of the start of the song, and less of the DJ as possible ๐
I cannot stand DnB and Jungle, but as a bouncer, the crowds at Dream nightclub were awesome.
Back in my rave days it was the chillest crowd. Until some promoters started doing D&B - Hip Hop crossovers and the "thugs" arrived.
It's an acquired taste lol.
