79/hour from the "top 5 deepfake sites combined"

That bit is kind of hard to believe. 79 images an hour is like 1-2 mid-range GPUs worth of generations. Like one single gooner could do that on their own at home. The Grok numbers also seem weirdly low, for basically the same reason. A hobbyist could probably even use the same model as it, since I'm pretty sure they're just running a WAN checkpoint or something. I don't think they have an actual real research team making their own models, just some groyper lackeys at the most making finetunes of models like WAN or Flux, if they're not just browsing civitai (and gooning) at work and pulling them from there.

I guess the "deepfake sites" are probably like sketchy phone app grifter things, and since those kind of get whacked down pretty quick for legal reasons I suppose they're inherently more obscure. Still, 79 is really low. It has to just be publicly available images being counted, I guess.
