Aren't they just!! I picked up a dozen or so loose singles last time I was in the cbd (roughly 20c each) and got some ghosties whose art I like or I thought are cute. I'm making little framed collages to put up on my desk at work so I'm not staring at a blank wall

Edit: also, read the card descriptions they're all like

"this is an accursed being who sustains itself upon pure unbridled terror of its victims"

Then the image is just some cutie patootie. It's the whole drifblim/drifloon spoopy lore that means I can't take them seriously you cannot grimdark these Pokemon

Mimikyu being an adorable little goober while the description says it's real form is so messed up that people just up and die from the shock of seeing it is pretty funny.

Shuppet is great! Its design is based on a rain charm called a teruteru bozu, basically a cloth tied over a ball, that is hung in windows. It's in keeping with the tendency for many ghost type Pokemon to be possessed objects (sinistcha/sinistea, clefki, dhelmise) and are relatively easy to understand how the designer thought up the idea. It also ties into shinto and the animus of discarded objects, like with banette (the evolved form of shuppet) being an abandoned doll

My boy Beedrill is based on a wasp with drills for legs, 151 was enough, 151 makes it real 151 makes it safe
