These "opposition" are fascists, too. But they're also civility fetishists who want fascism with a mask of decorum and process.
Yep! Instead of having a right-wing party and a left-wing party (or heaven forbid, multiple parties with a diverse range of opinions) the US has a right-wing party and a nazi party, but the nazis endlessly screech about how the right-wing party are all communists and this works on the majority of the public for some reason.
Essentially the Overton Window has come of the side of the house, gone all the way to the end of the garden and then time traveled back to Germany in 1930.
