That's interesting, I admit I had never considered that. I'm glad I didn't know this while riding my budget Chinese e-bike in torrential rain on a remote mountain road a few months ago.

Haha, yeah I'm not sure how risky it really is, but I know with my bike the battery sorta slots in, meaning there isn't really a seal around the battery. I think that's why you'll see some people wrap the battery area with plastic wrap/bags to help protect them during the rain.
