Du kannst Esc einfach auf CapsLock umlegen, gibt es ein paar Anleitungen für.

Unter Gnome ist es in der Tweaks app unter Keyboard & Mouse > Additional Layout Options > Caps Lock behaviour

Unter Cinnamon wohl unter System Settings > Keyboard > Layouts > Options > Caps Lock behaviour

Edit: unter KDE Settings > Keyboard > Key bindings > Caps Loch behaviour

Vielen Dank! Das werde ich nächstes Wochenende mal ausprobieren. Bisher habe ich nur herausgefunden, dass man sich eine Bildschirmtastatur einblenden kann, aber das ist natürlich sehr umständlich.
